Where It all Began

We started as Starkey Coffee, born in the mountains of Eastern Oregon in an almost unheard of town named Starkey. Starkey coffee was started by Dave Beede, a God fearing, motorcycle riding badass who loved coffee, but loved people more. Dave took a scientific approach to roasting coffee that he passed off to us Harrisons as a parting gift when cancer finally took his life after a long hard fight. The Harrisons took the baton of Starkey Coffee with pride from Dave and used it along side of their beloved Orange Rhino Bakery for many years. After the closing of their bakery, the beloved name of Orange Rhino wanted to live on. Eric and Karen Harrison, the owners of Orange Rhino Coffee are the proud parents of 4 kids 2 son-in-laws and 1 precious granddaughter. The unconventional family living off grid, homeschooling, raising lots of animals, and just being quirky has been a wonderful jump off point for deep diving into the love and quirkyness of coffee and keeping it weird! Everyone in our family is obsessed with coffee and finding more ways of making it better and fun!
