Where It all Began

Starkey Coffee was born in an almost unheard of town of Starkey, in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon. Dave Beede, founder, was a God fearing, motorcycle riding badass who loved coffee, but loved people more. Dave took a scientific approach to roasting coffee that he passed off to the Harrisons as a parting gift when cancer finally took his life after a long hard fight.

The Harrisons took the baton of Starkey Coffee from Dave, and with pride served it alongside the loved Orange Rhino Bakery. After the closing of their bakery the beloved name of Orange Rhino had to live on.

Eric and Karen Harrison, the owners of Orange Rhino Coffee are the proud parents of 4 kids, 2 son-in-laws, and 1 precious grand-daughter. The unconventional family living off grid, homeschooling, raising lots of animals, and just being quirky has been a wonderful jump off point for deep diving into the love and quirkyness of coffee and keeping it weird! Everyone in the Harrison family is obsessed with coffee and finding more ways of making it better and fun!
